Hi there, I’m Tyson Schofield — a graphic designer based in Nanaimo, BC, with a Bachelor of Design in Graphic Design from Vancouver Island University. Born, raised, and still residing in Nanaimo, British Columbia, my journey in design is rooted in my love for creativity, technology, and visual storytelling.

 

From a young age, I was fascinated by the intersection of art and technology. At just 11 years old, I found myself exploring the world of digital design, creating custom layouts for social media platforms using HTML/CSS and various creative softwares. This early dive into design wasn't just a hobby; it was the spark that ignited my passion for creating visually compelling and meaningful work.

 

Since graduating, I’ve had the opportunity to work with MindsAi Creative, a design and marketing studio where I gained experience in branding, web design, and creative strategy. I’ve also worked independently as a freelancer, collaborating with local businesses, musicians, and event organizers to bring their visions to life. My particular passion and niche is creating show posters for the Island’s vibrant music scene.

 

What drives me is more than just aesthetics — it’s connection. I believe in design that’s not only visually engaging but also meaningful and rooted in empathy. Whether I’m working on a gritty gig poster or a polished web layout, I approach each project with creativity, care, and a commitment to making something that feels authentic.

 

Beyond my academic and professional endeavors, music is my sanctuary. I'm an avid DJ and music producer, deeply involved in Vancouver Island’s vibrant local music scene. As a person, I'm known for my genuine, kind, and friendly nature. I believe in building strong, positive relationships with everyone I work with, always striving to create a collaborative and enjoyable experience.
