Fjord Fables Folklore Wiki

In designing the "Fjord Fables: Folklore Wiki" website, the primary inspiration was derived from a less known book on Scandinavian folklore found in the VIU library. The aim was to encapsulate the ethereal and mystic quality of Nordic myths while ensuring the website's functionality as an educational and community-driven platform. The color palette of grey-blue and black was chosen to evoke the somber and often enigmatic nature of folklore, mirroring the misty fjords and shadowy forests that are typical in Scandinavian landscapes. This choice also aids in making the images of mythological creatures and deities stand out.

The interface was designed with usability in mind, featuring a clean, minimalistic layout that mirrors the straightforward, informative style of Wikipedia. The homepage immediately engages visitors with a hero section that includes a compelling call to action, urging them to explore the articles. This section is not only visually striking but also serves as a guide into the depths of folklore content hosted on the site.
